A man involved in a police chase ended up arrested after his motorcycle ran out of gas during the escape.
The motorcyclist, identified as Donald Shaw, was stopped by officers who noticed that his motorcycle was unregistered, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.
In a video recorded by the patrol car’s dash-cam and shared by the sheriff’s office on Facebook, Shaw can be seen deciding to flee from authorities, who then began to chase him.
Unfortunately for Shaw, the chase didn’t last long, as his motorcycle ran out of gas just before an intersection. But what happens next is enough to cause secondhand embarrassment for anyone.
The clip shows that when the motorcycle stops, Shaw tries to push it forward with his feet to get it moving again, but without success. In the end, the officers manage to catch up and arrest the fleeing motorcyclist.
And indeed, Shaw had plenty of reasons to run. Besides the fact that the motorcycle he was riding had been stolen, he also had several outstanding arrest warrants, including for possession of drug trafficking paraphernalia.
